No the Dug –Out isn’t dry nor is anything or anyone else in this accursed climate Nor am I dry or ever think of changing any clothes or anything else of the things I should do. I am glad Joe is pleased to be facetious about the Foreign Office though I dont think its an awfully good joke. Im sorry if all this sounds unkind and dissatisfied Indeed when I think of the poor devils in these/those filthy trenches I come to the conclusion we should all be as happy as Kings In a few days I shall have recovered from my indisposition & fit of moroseness & will be as right as the proverbial rain.
