Im wearing it now all the time as it has been very cold the last few days. I think a compass would be of no use at all to me at present. It is awfully nice of you to think of it though. You see I know all the roads about here as well as I know Killiney a compass could tell me nothing of their beastliness that I don’t know already. And there is no chance of my walking into the Boche’s lines for want of a bearing. I havent yet got the parcel but it is hardly time for it to arrive yet. Im glad you have been getting on OK up to date, all the same you seem to have been doing a terrific amount of tearing around Paris you should conserve your energies a bit for Im sure your
