In a gallery in the back of the church there is another old organ

1st October 1916 Sunday

Remained in all morning expecting the medical visit that the CO had told me of when I spoke to him yesterday to try and hurry my departure. Never came off.
Went in with Brocklehurst to St Paul’s (English) Cathedral Church to hear an organ recital on behalf of the Red Cross. Church a garish looking building inside dating to 1844. Very well filled by civilians, soldiers stationed in Malta, naval men and the contents of the hospitals. The Governor General there (Methuen), with his staff. Organ very sweet if not very mellow. In a gallery in the back of the church there is just such another old organ as that we have in the Examination Hall in Trinity, taken from a Spanish ship.
