[January 1917]

Know where we were but when your circuit goes through half France & then back to the Battery things become difficult to fix. Thats all about that. Yes you ask whom did the shells follow why L.S. of course I told you. They never come after me Ive heard nothing longer than the field ones any where near me Whizz-bangs & the like which are practically innocent in groups of less than 50. I think James Oliver very nice indeed. Oh and I dont agree about Wilsons Note Ill write you about that. LS indeed that I am to have a full day off all tomorrow so Ill be able to write a good long letter Your little maid seems awfully nice & to give you that sachet was grand. Oh yes the thing I do want & badly. 1 autostrop razor Strop cannot get it here & all my blades are blunt Im in a bad way for that dearie So do send it quickly
Yours very love
