so he put the bike on the stand and proceeded to walk the rest of the way – and was never seen again. As my informant put it “we didnt ever get his identification disc”. Another DR he told me “had his nerves shot to hell” by the concussion of two shells on either side of him. Not that there is anything very new about such experiences but I tell you them for the nice racy American method of describing things that this chap had.
