LEADERS Programme, June 2017
The LEADERS Programme was hosted by the School of Law from June 13-16 2017
From June 13-16 2017, senior prison managers, penal policy experts, lawyers, and medical professionals attended the LEADERS programme, hosted by the School of Law and funded by the Irish Research Council, the European Research Council and the Irish Penal Reform Trust. The programme promotes knowledge exchange and collaboration between prison systems in the United States and Europe, with the aim of promoting better penal policy and practice. Participants travelled from California, Idaho, Pennsylvania and North Dakota, as well as from the Committee for the Prevention of Torture, Sweden, Germany, Norway, Northern Ireland and England for workshops and visits to the Irish Prison Service College and Loughan House open centre.
