ILE is the national organisation for the international promotion of Irish literature, in English and Irish and is funded by Culture Ireland and by both Arts Councils in Ireland. ILE offers translation grants to foreign publishers, residential literary bursaries to translators of Irish literature and, on occasion, supports the participation of Irish authors at international literary events. ILE also offers information to international publishers on the work of Irish authors and the rights holders of the work by publishing an annual rights catalogue, New Writing from Ireland. ILE mainly supports outbound translations from English and Irish although it can and does accept applications for support for inbound translations into English and Irish.
