M. Phil in Literary Translation -How to Apply


Application Information

The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies, Trinity College, Dublin (Ireland) has pleasure in inviting applications for an MPhil course in literary translation.

This is a postgraduate course, of one year's duration, running from October to September, assessed by submitted essay, a portfolio of translation and a dissertation. Candidates should possess a good degree in at least one language, or a degree plus proven language competence, or experience at a suitable level as a translator or writer.

A graduate of the course will be qualified to work as a literary translator (including cultural, academic or philosophical translation). The programme aims to teach translation as an art, and to form professionals who will have learned to work in an ethos of mutual intellectual and linguistic exchange.
