Videoconferencing services

Depending on your requirements there are several different services that provide videoconferencing facilities which Trinity staff can make use of including Skype for Business, Blackboard Collaborate Ultra and the Videoconferencing room. See the Getting Started section below for more information.

Getting Started

Skype for Business

Skype for Business is available to all Trinity staff via the Office 365 service and which allows you to quickly connect with colleagues. You can also use it for instant messaging, online meetings, calls and video calls, conferencing, and sharing and collaboration. Blackboard Collaborate Ultra

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is a web conferencing program that lets instructors host virtual classrooms with students and communicate with them via voice, video, lecture slides and text chat. For further details instructors can login to Blackboard (mymodule.tcd.ie) and choose the 'Staff Help' tab at the top right of the page. This service is only available to those staff seeking to use it for teaching and learning purposes.

Videoconferencing Room

Videoconferencing RoomVideoconferencing facilities are available in Room 3129, Arts Building. The room is equipped with a Polycom Group 500 VC unit and two 65" LCD screens. The GDS Number is 00353 01121117. Please see our Videoconferencing Request Form for further information. Please note that the remote site(s) needs compatible H323 equipment and that our videoconferencing room does not have Skype capacity.
