IT Services Alerts - Schedule of planned server moves to the Green Data Centre, 12th to 20th November

As part of ongoing service improvement works, IS Services will be moving many central College IT services to the Green Data Centre during the period between 12th November and 20th November 2013.   

This work will enable IS Services to develop and deliver new and existing IT services and increase technological efficiency and value.

Please note the following dates which will result in scheduled service downtime:

 Tuesday, 12th November

  • Get and Put folders and certain software downloads unavailable from 4pm to 4.30pm

Wednesday, 13th November

  • Finance documents service unavailable from 8am to 8.30am
  • Helpdesk online incident logging system (helpdesk.tcd.ie) unavailable from 8am to 8.30am,
  • TCDlife web service unavailable from 8am to 9am
  • TCD Blogging service unavailable from 9am to 9.30am

Thursday, 14th November

  • Library manuscripts service unavailable from 8am to 8.30am
  • Personal filestorage service unavailable from 8am to 8.30am
  • TCD Password Manager service unavailable from 8am to 8.30am
  • Internal Google search on College websites unavailable between 8am and 9am

Friday, 15th November

  • CORE HR service unavailable from 8am to 9am
  • Departmental network storage service unavailable from 4pm to 4.30pm

Monday, 18th November

  • Blackboard Learn and other Federated Access services unavailable from 8am to 8.30am
  • External access to Library services from 8am to 8.30am
  • eduroam service unavailable from 8am to 8.30am
  • Student Password Recovery service unavailable from 8am to 8.30am

Tuesday, 19th November

  • Student Password Reset service unavailable from 8am to 9am
  • Student Password Recovery sign-up unavailable from 8am to 9am
  • Staff email forwarding settings and other staff email settings unavailable from 8am to 9am (note that the staff email service will be fully operational throughout this period)
  • Remote access service for contractors unavailable from 8am to 8.30am
  • Student Password Reset unavailable for ten minutes between 10.30am and 11am
  • Student Password Recovery sign-up unavailable for ten minutes between 10.30am and 11am
  • Staff email forwarding settings and other staff email settings unavailable for ten minutes between 10.30am and 11am

Wednesday, 20th November

  • College web server unavailable from 8am to 8.05am
  • Access to external internet resources at-risk from 8am to 8.05am

Please note that our expectation is that disruption to services listed above will not exceed what is scheduled.  In the event of complications, we have procedures in place to resolve issues quickly and fully restore services with as little further disruption as possible and updates will be posted to our website at isservices.tcd.ie and on Twitter at twitter.com/tcdisservices.
