IT Services Alerts - RESOLVED: Risk to Trinity's Internet Connection, March 14th, 12.30pm
Update: Tuesday, 14th March 2017, 12.30pm
A new link has been created and our primary connection to the Internet, via HEAnet, has been restored to operation. Trinity's Internet connection is now restored to full resilience and the new link is providing service to the Trinity community.
Update: Monday, 13th March 2017, 4.45pm
As a result of works related to the Oisin House re-development a fibre break has been confirmed in the underlying cabling that provides Trinity's primary connection to the Internet.
Until a new cable route can be identified we will continue to be reliant for connection to the Internet on our secondary Internet connection service.
This means we no longer have any resilience for our Internet connection and if a fault develops on the equipment that provides this connection or if we experience an electical power outage in the East End of College then we will lose Trinity's Internet connection. We are taking emergency mitigating action to try to ensure a minor or short electrical power interruptions will not affect this service.
At present there are no issues with Internet connectivity for users.

College internet services are at low risk due to an issue with our link to our internet service provider (HEANet).
Please note we are currently running on a non-resilient backup link.
This means that in the event of a power outage, internet connectivity will be lost.
At present, there are no issues with internet connectivity for users.
Updates will be posted here.
