IT Services Alerts - Discontinuation of FTP Proxy service, October 7th
First Posted: Tuesday, 30th September 2014, 1pm
As part of on-going service improvement works we recently removed the requirement for ‘FTP proxy’ settings when connecting to an external FTP server. These proxy settings are no longer needed as all desktop computers and wireless devices now have direct access to FTP (and SFTP), without having to use the FTP proxy service.
If you have previously used the FTP proxy service to transfer files in an FTP application such as FileZilla, which is the FTP application IS Services provides support for, then please take moment to remove any FTP proxy settings you may have in your FTP application. You can refer to our instructions on how to remove the FTP proxy settings from FileZilla for an example of what needs to be removed.
The FTP proxy service will be decommissioned on 7th October, so it's important you remove these settings before then.
