Requesting Access to Additional External Internet Services
Currently any software which uses protocols other than the standard HTTP, IMAP, POP, FTP etc. may not work by default as they will be blocked for security reasons by our firewall. These include such facilities as internet sharing software (Napster, Limewire, Hotline, Kazzaa), video conferencing software (Netmeeting, CUSeeMe) and internet database software (EndNote, CDDB).
Staff accessing the College network from College offices who have a legitimate academic or administrative purpose for the use of any of these facilities can submit a request to the IS Services Helpdesk to have additional internet services enabled for their computer.
If you wish to see what services are available to you, depending on your status in College and how your computer is connected to the network, please refer to our list of available internet and network services.
