Dreamweaver Installation
Step 1: Obtain Dreamweaver Licence Code and Installation CD
In order to install and use Dreamweaver, you must first purchase a licence from our suppliers, Micromail, whose contact details are listed below. They will need to know how many licences you require, if you are using PC or Mac, and your purchase order number. They will supply you with a licence code that you will need when installing Dreamweaver.
The licences are provided at an educational discount for TCD staff only and current pricing is €100 ex. VAT per Dreamweaver licence. The minimum operating system requirements in order to run Dreamweaver CS4 are Windows XP for PC users, Mac OS 10.4.11 for Apple Mac users. Users of Windows 2000 or Mac OS 10.3-10.4 are advised to purchase the Dreamweaver CS4 licence and then obtain the Dreamweaver 8 installation disk and licence code from the IS Services Helpdesk. These users can then install Dreamweaver CS4 when they upgrade their computers.
After purchasing the licence, In order to install Dreamweaver you will need to obtain the Dreamweaver installation disk. You may obtain a copy of the Dreamweaver installation disk at no charge by emailing a request to the IS Services Helpdesk, remembering to specify if you require Dreamweaver CS4 or Dreamweaver 8. If you order the disk via the IS Services Helpdesk you will be given a reference ticket number and to collect the disk you will need to call into the Helpdesk in Áras An Phiarsaigh with this ticket number and a copy of your licence information as obtained from Micromail.
Note that Dreamweaver can also be purchased as part of one of Adobe's Creative Suite packages which include other Adobe products like Photoshop and Flash. If you do purchase one of the Creative Suite Packages you will need to purchase the installation media from Micromail also. Step 2: Install Dreamweaver
Once you have the installation CD and licence code you simply insert the CD and run the installation accepting all the default options and inserting the licence code when prompted.
Step 3: Configure Dreamweaver
Once the product is installed and activated you will need to configure Dreamweaver to publish to the web server. Note that in order to publish to the College web server you will need a webauthor account.

All webauthors should become familiar with the College web design policies and requirements at the College Web Office web site. Note that IS Services provide training courses in using Dreamweaver to maintain College websites.
