ISE Women Building Peace event - Women from Korea, Northern Ireland and Ireland

The Irish School of Ecumenics Seminar on Women Building Peace was held on July 5, 2016, on the occasion of the visit by the South Korean women's peace NGO, Women Making Peace (WMP). Participants from Korea, Ireland and Northern Ireland discussed the issues around the role of women in peacebuilding. The participants were welcomed by Prof Andrew Pierce, Head of ISE. The seminar was chaired by Prof. Geraldine Smyth, ISE. Prof. Gillian Wylie, ISE, gave a talk on 'Women Building Peace: Who, Why, How?', Prof Soon-Won Kang, Hanshin University, spoke on 'Peace Process and Peace Education in Korea', Ms. Bronagh Hinds, DemocraShe, presented 'The Role of Women in the Northern Ireland Peace Process', and Ms. Sun-Hye Kim, WMP, talked about 'A journey to Peace by Korean Women: Women Making Peace'.
