ISE hosting screening of 'A Third Way' documentary film

In collaboration with the European Platform for Middle East Dialogue (EPMED), the Irish School of Ecumenics (ISE) will be hosting the screening of 'A Third Way': a documentary promoting a better understanding of interfaith and intercultural dialogue among Israelis and Palestinians.

This documentary is directed by Harvey Stein and produced by Brad Rothschild. You can find the trailer here and an interview with Harvey Stein here. Harvey Stein will also attend the screening, which is to be followed by an open discussion with the audience.

'A Third Way' follows various West Bank Palestinians and Israeli settlers who enter into dialogue with the strangers who are their neighbours, at times under very dangerous circumstances. By screening this documentary we hope to convey and amplify these local voices and to highlight the existence of alternative, non-antagonistic narratives in the region. The documentary also makes reference to the complexities and opportunities that characterise interfaith and intercultural relations in the Middle East and beyond, which could be of great interest to ISE students across the three MPhil programmes.

The screening and debate will both take place on Thursday 18 February between 18.00 and 20.00 in G16 (the same venue used for lectures). If you are interested in attending the event, please make sure to email Claire Payne (paynec@tcd.ie) for registration. Only 80 places are available.
