Dr Carlo Aldrovandi invited to attend the third edition of the Conference 'Transformation of Intractable Conflicts' at Harvard University, 16-18 March 2017

Dr Carlo Aldrovandi was invited to attend the third edition of the Conference 'Transformation of Intractable Conflicts', which was held at Harvard University between March 16 and 18, 2017.

Dr Aldrovandi discussed aspects of his current research in Israel/Palestine during the workshop 'Interactive Problem Solving' - one convened by international conflict transformation scholars Professor Tamra Pearson d'Estrée (Josef Korbel School of International Studies) and Professor Ronald Fisher (American University).

The conference was also intended as an event celebrating Professor Herbert C. Kelman's 90th birthday and his seminal contributions to the field of conflict analysis and resolution. Professor Kelman is recognised as one of the founding fathers of the concept of 'Track Two Diplomacy' and played a critical role in the unofficial negotiations leading to the Oslo Peace Accords of 1993.

During his stay, Dr Aldrovandi had also a chance to reconnect with Shao Wei Chia Chew and Amanda Beattie, two Harvard students who enrolled in last year's Semester Abroad Programme at Trinity and ISE.
