Georgian students share what peace means to them - PESTUGE evaluation June 2018

TCD Peace Studies is a partner in the Erasmus Plus PESTUGE project - Establishing a Graduate Curriculum in Peace Studies in Georgia.

Georgai Trip 7In June the teams from Trinity, DCU and Innsbruck met with students from Caucuses University, Ilia State University, Sokhumi State University and Tbilisi State University to find out what impact studying peace is having on them. The students exchanged lots of ideas about peace from the personal to the political and how their learning in the new PESTUGE modules has given them new perspectives on conflict analysis and conflict resolution in their own context. It was inspiring to meet them!

The pictures in the link below show Gillian Wylie (TCD), Walt Kilroy and Eamon McConnon (DCU) and Josefina Echavarria and Liridona Veliu (Innsbruck) working with the students in a World Cafe evalution process.

During the visit we also toured the brand new campus of Caucuses University - including the chance to see the Peace Studies books bought with PESTUGE funding for the students and to sit in the mock TV news studio used by Media Studies students on the campus.
