Frontline Defenders Lecture - LGBT Rights in Uganda by Sandra Namutebi

Date and Time: November 12, 11am-1pm

Venue: ISE/Loyola Institute Building, G16

Sandra Namutebi is a human rights defender for the LGBT+ community in Uganda and works for the National LGBTI Security Committee. The Committee is a safety and protection body in Uganda that deals with emergencies of sexual minorities. The political and social climate for human rights defenders, particularly for those working for LGBT+ rights, is dangerous, with hostility from both the government and society.
