Annual Alumni Event - 22 June 2016

As has been the tradition at ISE, we are looking forward to hosting graduating students and their families together with current students, alumni and friends at our now well established and enjoyable annual event.

This year's informal event will take place as follows:

Date: Wednesday 22 June 2016

Time: 5.30pm - 7.00pm

Venue: Postgraduate Reading Room, ISE-LI Building, TCD campus

5.30pm Welcome by staff and some former students - while drink and light refreshments are served.

6.15pm Prof. Gillian Wylie, welcomes and introduces our guest speaker.

6.25pm Address by Dr Clara Fisher who will speak about the relevance and benefits of her study at ISE, in relation to her current role and future career plans.

Dr. Clara Fischer completed her PhD on feminist pragmatism and her MPhil in International Peace Studies at the Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity College Dublin. Dr. Fischer is currently a UCD Philosophy Teaching and Research Fellow and a UCD Women's Studies Research Associate. She has recently completed a Visiting Research Fellowship at the Trinity Long Room Hub in Trinity College Dublin as well as a British Academy Newton International Fellowship at the Gender Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science. She specialises in feminist theory and political philosophy, and is completing a monograph on the gendered politics of shame and containment in 20th century Ireland, using the Magadalen laundries as a case study.

Mingling in the Postgraduate Reading Room until 7.15pm approximately.
