About the ISE Trust

ISE Belfast window

The Irish School of Ecumenics Trust is vital to the overall structure of the School. It funds all those activities that are additional to the HEA-funded degree programmes in Ecumenics, International Peace Studies and Reconciliation Studies.

Without funding provided by the Trust, activities such as Education for Reconciliation in Northern Ireland, the provision of scholarships for non-Irish and non-EU students, the holding of international conferences, the awarding of prizes for exceptional student work and the publication of outstanding MPhil dissertations simply would not take place. The Trust relies solely on contributions made by church bodies, other government and EU partnerships, local parishes, religious communities and individuals.

The ISE Trust nominates one third of the membership of the ISE Executive Board at Trinity College. The Steering Committee and the Council of the ISE Trust work together to keep alive the vision of the School.
