SummarySeries on the development of Irish filmmaking from the beginnings in 1898 to the present. Second programme looks at the early efforts of Denis Johnstone in Dublin and the Cooper family in Killarney to the establishment of the Irish Film Society and the founding of the Irish Film School. Features extracts from Ireland film productions of the period, such as; 'Guests of the Nation' (1935), 'Riders to the Sea', 'The Dawn' (1937), 'The Island Man of West Kerry' (1939), 'Fools Mate' and 'Some Say Chance' (1934).
