Working in Ireland
Non-EU students registered on a full time education course for at least one academic year can work part-time to support themselves, up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. On registration with the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) you will receive your permission to stay which will contain a stamp reflecting this entitlement; therefore you should only take up work after registration with GNIB. Please also note that GNIB registration procedures for students intending to take up part-time work may change in the near future, please check this website for updates.
Further information on working in Ireland can be obtained from the Irish Council for International Students (ICOS).
The Careers Advisory Service website provides information to International Students on working in Ireland during studies, working in Ireland after studies, working outside Ireland after studies with specific country profiles, and job search advice for the Irish market.
