Why study at Trinity:
Trinity is one of the world's great universities. Founded in 1592, Trinity College is a comprehensive university situated in the centre of Dublin and offers over 400 different programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. Our undergraduate degrees are of four years duration with the exception of medicine and dentistry, which are five years.
We are a research-led university and our undergraduate students benefit from a teaching experience that is delivered by academic staff who are actively involved in research in their particular area. Similar to Cambridge and Oxford all of our undergraduate students are assigned a personal tutor for the duration of their undergraduate studies. In addition, a student to student mentoring programme for first year students has also been introduced. We have over 16,500 students, (11,500 undergraduates and 5,000 postgraduates), and approximately 2,400 are international of which about 1,200 students are from across Europe and 1,200 are from outside of Europe, mostly from the USA. There are also possibilities of studying (for one semester or a full academic year) with other leading universities through Trinity College's global partnerships.
Dublin is one of the liveliest and youngest populated cities in Europe with a population of just over 1.2 million, which makes it a great student environment. The location of the university in the very centre also provides students with a unique opportunity to engage with the city and all that it has to offer.
