Trinity College Dublin receives InBusiness Recognition Award for Academia Collaboration with Industry

We were delighted to receive the “InBusiness Magazine” award for Academia Collaboration with Industry at an event at the Westin Hotel in Dec 4th last. The award recognised our work with “industry stakeholders and agencies, sharing infrastructure, expertise and tackling industry-relevant research challenges.”

In accepting the award, Professor Chris Morash, Vice Provost at Trinity College Dublin, described how our innovation output is driven by a deep research pipeline, underpinned by 19 research themes distributed across 24 schools, 5 major research institutes and 3 SFI centres spanning nano science to neuro science, digital humanities to creative technologies and immunology to oncology.

Since 2013, we have completed 580 collaborative agreements with Industry, which has included 134 technology licence agreements for transferring technologies. He described how we engage with many of the leading multinational companies such Intel as from the US, Nokia from Europe and China’s Huawei. He went on to describe our strong collaborations with indigenous Irish companies such as Eir and Ryanair, along with many SMEs.
