Research topic : Developing a Women's Peace Agenda? United Nations Resolution 1325 in Armenia and Azerbaijan

This research adopts a critical feminist approach to international developments in the field of Women, Peace and Security, using a qualitative case study on Armenia and Azerbaijan to determine the impact of UNSCR 1325 and related policy frameworks on local women's activism. The research analyses the role of women's civil society organisations in peacebuilding and conflict resolution in the case of Nagorno-Karabakh, but also in relation to wider societal changes taking place across the region in the context of post-Soviet transition.
