Advancing your Research Career

The programme at Trinity College Dublin

Advancing your Research Career (ARC) has been developed through a unique process of global collaboration with leading experts and institutions.

The ARC Programme supports researchers across all fields and disciplines to take a strategic and reflective approach when managing their research career.

The programme at Trinity College Dublin consists of 3 pillars: (i) online portal, (ii) masterclasses and (iii) mentoring relationship.

Online Portal via Blackboard

The online element consists of ten modules and explores the key capabilities that underpin research leadership, ensuring that researchers' career goals are well articulated and supported by a professional knowledge base.

Through integrating opportunities for critical reflection and goal setting, the programme equips researchers with the skills to reflect upon and build an understanding of what leadership looks like within their individual fields. This allows them a clear strategy for career development.

To gain the certificate, a 70% grade must be achieved in the online modules.

Masterclasses

In addition to this Trinity College Dublin will also deliver 9 masterclasses that complement these topics.

The topics range from funding to dissemination, engagement to impact.

To gain the certificate you must attend at least 80% of the masterclasses.

Mentoring

Another benefit to the Advancing your Research Career programme is that you get to choose and engage in a mentoring relationship focused solely on your career as a researcher.

You must engage in the mentoring relationship in order to achieve the certificate of completion. Training will be given to mentors and mentees.
