Quality Assurance Visits

The Housekeeping Department carries out quality assurance room checks once a term. This involves a brief visit to rooms. An e-mail will be sent to all students and notices placed within houses one week in advance of inspections taking place. Once your room has been inspected a note will be left stating that the Housekeeping Department has visited. If your room is found to be in an unsatisfactory condition you will be notified to that effect. You will then be requested to clean your room within the week at which time the room will be re-checked. If your room is still found to be in an unsatisfactory condition you will be notified and staff from the Housekeeping Department will clean the rooms with the relevant charge being applied to your account.

At the end of term when you leave, it is expected that your room will be left in a reasonable condition. This means that all rubbish, unwanted clothes, books etc, must be removed. Prior to departure, fridges should be defrosted and ovens and hobs cleaned. In a minority of cases where a room is left in an unsatisfactory condition, and requires additional work to be carried out by the Housekeeping staff, costs will be charged to your account. Charges may also be incurred for dilapidations that are beyond normal wear and tear.
