Scholarship Examinations - Single Honors
Single Honor candidates are examined in four two-hour papers, carrying equal weight. At least one paper from each group must be attempted.
- At least one of the following:
- History of Europe 1000-1250 (2 hrs)
- History of Ireland 1014-1534 (2 hrs)
- History of Britain 1000 – 1485 – Part A (2 hrs)
- History of Britain 1000 – 1485 – Part B (2 hrs)
- History of Europe 1500 - 1700 – Part A (2 hrs)
- History of Europe 1500 - 1700 – Part B (2 hrs)
- At least one of the following:
- Continental Europe: grandeur and decline, 1870-1920 (2 hrs)
- History of Ireland, 1800-1900 (2 hrs)
- Ireland and the wider world, 1500-1800 – part A (2 hrs)
- History of Britain from 1603 to 1815 (2 hrs)
- The course of American history, a survey, 1600-2001(2 hrs)
- Barbarian Europe, 400-1000 (2 hrs)
- Europe, c.1215-1517: Religion, death and culture (2 hrs)
- Culture and politics in Europe, 1700-1870 – part A (2 hrs)
