Research

'The Revelation of John Bale: The Conceptualization of Space in Protestant Apocalyptic Thought, 1536-1563'
My research is focused on John Bale's polemical exegesis of the Book of Revelation as a means to understand the pattern of history and to identify the place of the Reformation within it. I am particularly interested in Bale's consideration of the spatial symbols within Revelation; evil space, transitional space, and expected space, and their application within Bale's apocalyptic vision of the past, present, and future.
