University Partners
Trinity College Dublin is internationally recognized as Ireland's leading university. In addition to being the country's highest-ranking university, Trinity College Dublin is also Ireland's most globalized university, as evidenced by the ratio of international to domestic students, the ratio of international to domestic staff and the proportion of internationally co-authored papers. As part of the Global Relations Strategy, we are working proactively to expand our network of global partnerships for student and research exchanges with other top-ranking universities across key areas of global growth.
Research Collaborations
Twenty-first century research aims for global impact. At Trinity College Dublin, we encourage a global outlook for our academic researchers and support close collaborations with institutions, industries and cultural initiatives around the world. This high level of international collaboration is demonstrated by recent agreements signed by the University. Collaborations with world-class universities such as the University of Chicago, Brown University and Columbia University in the United States, the National University of Singapore, Peking and Tsinghua Universities in China and IIT Delhi, the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and the Indian Institute of Science in India create an academically-rigorous and multicultural environment that provides all Trinity students with the intercultural expertise demanded in a global economy.
Non-EU Exchanges
Trinity College Dublin has an ever-growing list of university partners who rank among the best educational institutions in their respective countries. We offer direct student exchanges with a range of leading universities in Asia, Australia and North America. In addition to college-wide exchanges, a number of departments have agreements with their counterparts at institutions around the globe. We are committed to providing our students with the very best academic opportunities our global education network has to offer.
European Exchanges (Erasmus)
The Erasmus Programme enables students across Europe to study at another European university as part of their university degree. Named after the philosopher and theologian Erasmus of Rotterdam (1465-1536) who worked throughout Europe to expand his knowledge, experience and insight, the scheme is run by the European Commission. Trinity College Dublin has participated in the Erasmus Programme since its inception in 1987 and continues to play an active and positive role. All Trinity College Dublin students are eligible to participate in outgoing Erasmus exchanges, from undergraduate through doctoral level study.
