Science Gallery International
Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin
Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin is a place where science and art collide. Uniting imagination and invention, Trinity College Dublin's Science Gallery inspires passionate scientific debate both within the university and in public dialogue. A ground-breaking model of public engagement, Science Gallery acts as a bridge between Trinity College Dublin and the wider community. Exhibition themes have ranged from contagion to fashion and the future of water to game play. Science Gallery ignites creativity and discovery through its interactive exhibitions, educational workshops, training programs and public events. Since Science Gallery opened in 2008, over one million people have visited the location in Trinity College Dublin's city centre campus.
Science Gallery International
Science Gallery International was established as an Irish-based charitable organization in order to build the Global Science Gallery Network, thanks to a generous gift from Google.org. Building upon the international collaborations that have enhanced the first five years of Science Gallery exhibitions in Trinity College Dublin, the Global Science Gallery Network plans to open eight Science Gallery locations in partnership with leading international universities in urban centres including New York, Singapore and Moscow by 2020.
"In each city, we tap into a vibrant local creative community of researchers, designers, artists and entrepreneurs to engage and inspire the next generation of innovators."
Dr Michael John Gorman
Founding Director of Science Gallery and Adjunct Professor of Creative Technologies at Trinity College Dublin
In 2012, King's College London signed an agreement to launch the first international Science Gallery in the exciting London Bridge Quarter. Exploratory research into the establishment of a node of the Science Gallery is well underway in Bangalore, India, and the Science Gallery team regularly tour exhibitions around the world.
