SEACHTAIN SPLEODRACH, ILDAITE BEARTAITHE D’ÉIGSE NA TRÍONÓIDE

EXUBERANT, COLURFUL WEEK PLANNED FOR ÉIGSE NA TRÍONÓIDE, TCD’S IRISH LANGUAGE FESTIVAL

Tá seachtain iontach spleodrach, ildaite - Éigse na Tríonóide - eagraithe ag Gaeilgeoirí na Tríonóide i gcroílár Bhaile Átha Chliath, agus tá sé oscailte do chách. Beidh an ceiliúradh Gaelach seo ag leanúint ón Luain 28 Eanáir go dtí an Aoine 1 Feabhra.

Beidh ar a laghad ceithre imeachtaí trí mheán na Gaeilge gach uile lá, agus mar sin tá rud éigin do gach duine le gach cineál spéise.

Ar bharr ar phancóga agus tae saor in aisce i Seomra na Gaeilge gach maidin, beidh pobal Gaeilge an Choláiste bailithe le chéile do chúpla mór-imeachtaí atá an-dhifriúil agus an-chorraitheach.

Ar an Luan, beidh Scaoileadh na mBalún ag a 3.00 i.n. i bpríomhchearnóg an Choláiste le tús dathúil a chur leis an gceiliúradh roimh a thagann slua le chéile i Seomra na Gaeilge ag a 6i.n. d'Oscailt Oifigiúil na hÉigse- beidh ceoil, sólaistí agus craic ar fáil. I ndiaidh sin, beidh bia álainn agus deochanna speisialta le n-ithe agus le n-ól i dtigh an "Gingerman" ar bharr Westland Row. 

Ar an Mháirt, beidh rang Rince ar an Sean-Nós le Sibéal Davitt, agus ciorcal scannánaíochta um thráthnóna. Níos luaithe sa lá, beidh Seirbhísí Nua Custaiméara trí Ghaeilge á sheoladh sa Leabharlann le tae agus caifé ag a 11.00.i.n. Buaicphointe an lae ar an Mháirt ná Díospóireacht Stairiúil in ionad spreagúil Theach na dTiarnaí i mBanc na hEireann, le aoichainteoirí speisialta, ag argóint faoin rún  -"Creideann an teach seo gur chóir d'Éire filleadh ar an Ríocht Aontaithe".

Más rud é go bhfuil tú ag mothú míshláintiúil, tar go dtí Yoga trí Ghaeilge ag a 5.i.n. i Seomra na Gaeilge, nó bí ag rith timpeall linn i rith an lae nuair a dhéanann muintir an choláiste iarracht teacht ar an "Fugitive Gaelach". Oíche Chéadaoin, tar go dtí Oíche Ghaelach sa Grand Social, nuair a thagann pobal Gaelach na cathrach le chéile le gáire a dhéanamh ar mhuintir "Tóg Amach Mé" ó a 8.i.n. ar aghaidh. Beidh damhsa, beidh ceoil. Beidh spraoi den chéad mhíle scoth. Ná caill amach air!

Ar an Déardaoin, beidh Tráth na gCeist idir mic léinn agus foireann an Choláiste ag a 1.30i.n. Dóibh siúd atá spíonta, beidh amhránaíocht álainn le cloisteáil ag Urnaí na Nóna i Séipéal an Choláiste ag a 5.15. Beidh fadhbanna spioradálta, morálta, intleachtúla an domhain á phlé ag muintir an choláiste nuair a thagann An Siopa Leabhar chuig an gColáiste le ócáid liteartha darbh ainm "An Éigse Liteartha" a chur ar bun.

Ar an Aoine, Lá Fhéile Bríde, beidh Seó Draíochta ag a 7.30 i léachtlann Uí Chadhain i mBloc na nEalaíon leis an draoidóir Rua, agus beidh craic den chéad mhíle scoth idir muintir TCD agus muintir UCD ag Cluiche Peile na Seachtaine ag a 2.i.n. Beidh cór an chumainn ag teacht le chéile le ceiliúradh a dhéanamh ag Aifreann na hÉigse i Séipéal an Choláiste ag a 1.05i.n.

EXUBERANT, COLURFUL WEEK PLANNED FOR ÉIGSE NA TRÍONÓIDE, TCD’S IRISH LANGUAGE FESTIVAL

An exuberant and colourful week-  Éigse na Tríonóide – is planned by Irish speakers in Trinity College in the heart of Dublin, open to everybody. This Irish language celebration will run from Monday 28th January to Friday 1st February.

At least four events will be held each day through Irish and there will be something for everybody and every taste.  

As well as free pancakes and tea each morning in Seomra na Gaeilge, College’s Irish language community will gather together for some key events of a distinct and exciting nature.

Monday at 3pm will see the Release of Balloons in Front Square, providing a colourful start to the celebrations, before people gather at 6pm in Seomra na Gaeilge for the official launch of the Éigse- featuring music, refreshments and craic. Afterwards, there will be food and special drinks in the Gingerman pub on Westland Row.

On Tuesday evening, there will be a Sean-Nos dancing workshop with Sibéal Davitt and a film circle.  Earlier that day, new bilingual customer services will be launched in the Library with tea and coffee at 11am. The highlight of the day on Tuesday will be an Historic Debate in the House of Lords chamber in the Bank of Ireland, College Green with special guest speakers, debating the topic: “This House believes that Ireland should rejoin the United Kingdom”.  

If you’re not feeling too healthy, pop along to Yoga trí Ghaeilge at 5.00pm in Seomra na Gaeilge, or run around with us during the day when people in College will be trying to catch the "Fugitive Gaelach". On Wednesday night, come along to the Oíche Ghaelach at Grand Social, when the Irish language community of the city will gather to laugh at those taking part in "Tóg Amach Mé" (Take Me out) from 8pm onwards. There will be dancing. There will be music. There will be great craic. Don’t miss out!

On Thursday, there will be a Table Quiz between Staff and Students of the Coillege, at 1.30pm. For those worn out, there will be beautiful singing to be heard at Urnaí na Nóna (Choral Evensong in Irish) in the College Chapel at 5.15. The world’s spiritual, moral and intellectual problems will be discussed when the Irish language bookshop An Siopa Leabhar comes to College for a literary event titled "An Éigse Liteartha".

On Friday, St Brigid’s Day, a Magic Show will be held featuring the magician Rua at 7.30pm in the Ó Cadhain Lecture Theatre in the Arts Building, and there will be great sport between TCD agus visitors from UCD at Cluiche Peile na Seachtaine (Gaelic football match) at 2pm. The Cumann Gaelach choir will come together for a celebration of St Brigid’s Day at Mass in the College Chapel at 1.05pm.
