The Oscar Wilde Centre for Irish Writing

image description

Bringing the achievement and ambition of young writers and scholars to the attention of a wider public at home and abroad

The Oscar Wilde Centre for Irish Writing - originally the home of the Wilde family - was opened in January 1998 as the teaching and research centre for both the long-standing M.Phil. in Anglo-Irish Literature and the M.Phil. in Creative Writing. Devoted to writing and research, the Oscar Wilde Centre's exclusive focus is on providing an academic yet lively environment for students. Plans have been drawn up for the refurbishment of the centre.

In 2008, the Centre celebrated its 10th anniversary and the 10th year of the M.Phil. in Creative Writing. Crosbie Properties provided an apartment for Richard Ford, Writer in Residence at the Centre. Plans have been drawn up for the refurbishment of the centre.
