Harness indigenous resource of clinicians, clinical scientists and basic scientists at Trinity College and St James’s Hospital to deliver improved cancer patient care.
Trinity identified cancer as a key research theme of the Health Research pillar. The Centre for Cancer Research will deliver the research in new therapies for cancer and will improve patient care by:
- Exploiting latest knowledge for understanding cancer to inform best practice;
- Generating new leads in cancer drug discovery;
- Enhancing educational programmes;
- Positioning Ireland as a leader in cancer research internationally.
The estimated building cost is €40m.
