Trinity Immigration Initiative

Research Programme on Diversity, Integration and Policy
Trinity Immigration Initiative (TII) brings together key strands of TCD’s strategies in research, teaching and engagement with society, positioning the University to play an influential role in developing a more inclusive, multicultural society for Ireland’s future. TII encompasses a range of research projects looking at issues of integration in different settings – schools, the community the workplace and in society more broadly.
One of the Highlights of 2009 was a landmark photographic exhibition co-ordinated by TII’s Migrant Networks Research Project - 'Leaders' - which was displayed in locations across Dublin during 2009. This exhibition showcased the contribution made by leaders of migrant networks in the fields of advocacy, religion, culture, media, and gender, highlighting how these networks facilitate migrants’ integration in Ireland and their cultural expression.
In June 2010, TII will be hosting a major international conference New Migrations, New Challenges in Trinity College Dublin.
TII’s ground-breaking research has been made possible by a major grant provided by AIB in 2007.
