The Monitoring Advisory Group was established in 2008 to advise the Equality Office on the preparation and recommendations of the Annual Equality Monitoring Report. The Monitoring Advisory Group is a sub-group of the Equality Committee with a diversity of expertise in staff and student data.

The 2011-2012 composition of the Group was:
Ms Caroline Roughneen, Director of WiSER
Ms Pat Daly, Staff Office
Ms Clodagh Byrne, Mature Students’ Officer (Senior Lecturer’s Area)
Ms Lisa Coady, TAP
Dr Andrew Loxley (Education)
Ms Karen Campos, Equality Officer

Recruitment Monitoring

College is committed to ensuring that all applicants are treated equally under Irish and EU legislation and College Policy.

College monitors its selection process to ensure this commitment is met. It collects data in relation to the 9 discriminatory grounds included in equality legislation. All applicants for College positions are asked to complete a confidential and anonymous monitoring form to allow the College to assess if it is receiving applications from a broad and diverse section of society.

Statistical reports are collated from this information and are included in the Annual Equality Monitoring Report.

Staff Disability Census

In compliance with the Disability Act 2005, College completes an annual staff census that reports on the number of staff with disabilities. Under the Act, public service bodies have a duty to promote and support the employment of people with disabilities, and to ensure that at least 3% of their employees are people with disabilities.
