Inclusive Learning

College supports an inclusive learning ethos in its teaching and academic practice.

Inclusive teaching approaches acknowledge the diversity in the student population, where students come from differing social and cultural backgrounds. They follow the principles of universal design for instruction to respond to the varied needs of the diverse student population. They aim to break down barriers to learning by providing a range of teaching and assessment methods, thus allowing all students to work to their strengths.

Inclusive teaching is an essential part of the excellence in teaching and education which the College represents.

Accessible Information

College has approved an Accessible Information Policy.

The provision of accessible teaching materials is a legal requirement under the Equal Status Acts 2000 and 2004 and Disability Act 2005. Further information on creating accessible information is available at the TIC website.

Trinity Inclusive Curriculum

The objective of the Trinity Inclusive Curriculum (TIC) project is to mainstream inclusive TIC logoprinciples within the entire College curricula. This allows students from non-traditional learning backgrounds to participate more fully in the academic life of College.

The TIC website is a resource incorporating tools, guidelines and templates that can be used to ensure inclusive principles are embedded within your curriculum. TIC guidelines and resources cover all aspects of teaching and assessment.

College received Strategic Innovation funding in 2008 for the Trinity Inclusive Curriculum Project. The development of this project was a partnership between CAPSL, access initiatives and the academic community.
