College Disability Service

The College Disability Service (DS) works to meet the requirements of staff and students with disabilities.

National Institute for Intellectual Disability

The National Institute for Intellectual Disability (NIID) is an innovative initiative that promotes inclusion for people with intellectual disability through education, research and advocacy.

 

Code of Practice Applying to the Employment of People with Disabilities

College has reviewed its policies and practices to promote the recruitment and retention of staff with disabilities. A revised Code of Practice Applying to the Employment of People with Disabilities was developed as part of the Review. This review furthers College’s commitment to creating a positive work environment that is disability friendly and increasingly accessible.

 

Supporting Staff with Disabilities: Guide for staff and managers

A Guide for Managers Supporting Staff with Disabilities (PDF, 255kb) was launched in December 2008 by the Provost and Minister of State Sean Haughey. See the Press release.


3% Employment Target

College is required to promote the employment of people with disabilities under the Disability Act 2005 and is required to reach a target of at least 3% of staff to have disabilities.

Staff Census

College requested all staff to complete a staff disability census in 2010 in order to comply with the Disability Act 2005.
