The Transition to Employment web page aims to provide information and resources to support students with disabilities prepare for the transition from College to employment or further study.

It can be challenging to plan ahead for your career while you are in College. In these pages, we’ve gathered some information in collaboration with the Careers Advisory Service to support you to consider and develop your career plan during your time in College. It’s also important to consider what supports you use in College and what you may need in the workplace.

Work placements are integral to many Trinity professional courses. Work placements are a fantastic opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in your chosen career path, but can pose challenges for students with disabilities. We’ve gathered some ideas for how you can prepare for and manage a placement.

Every year, students identify uncertainty about how to manage disclosure of disability in employment situations, how to explain or communicate their disability, and how to negotiate workplace accommodations. These topics are introduced in the section on ‘Disclosure’.
