Phase 2: Building and maintaining a college career

The student journey approach views transition as an ongoing process across 3 phases, including progression and retention within third level and the move to further study and / or employment. Within the context of the student journey, this phase focuses on the support needs of students with disabilities during their time in 3rd level education, and seeks to establish how the provision of supports and accommodations for students with disabilities impacts on rates of progression and retention, compared to non-disabled peers.

Initial findings indicate that students with disabilities are more likely to complete degree courses in Trinity College compared with non-disabled peers. However, an increasing diversity of student population means there will inevitably be a greater diversity of influencing factors.

The Disability Service(DS) has identified and developed targeted activities  and projects associated with these objectives ( MS Word 22KB)
