Booking ISL interpreters for Deaf staff in College

In 2009 College introduced the Accessible Information Policy.
This policy outlines College's responsibilities in ensuring information is accessible to people with disabilities in College. A lot of thought has gone into ensuring deaf staff are catered for and funding has been identified to ensure no necessary exclusion takes place.
What has been agreed is as follows:
- If a School or Department needs to engage the services of an interpreter to facilitate the involvement of a member of staff in meetings, conferences, or other functions essential to the job then the School should pay for the services of an interpreter and make request in advance from the Establishment Officer in the Staff office (Ms. Pat Daly).
- If a staff member with a requirement for an Interpreter is attending an event which isn't work related or a conference is external to the University, for which a registration fee is payable, then it would be expected the conference organizers to have regard to his/her requirement and make due provision from their own resources.
