Declan ReillyDeclan Reilly

Declan has been working in Trinity College since 2005. He has particular responsibility for phase 2 of the Student Journey: Building and maintaining a University career. The focus during phase 2 is on providing evidence based supports for students as they settle into Trinity and advance their skills of independent learning and self-determination. Before joining Trinity College, Declan worked with the HSE in the midlands as an Occupational Guidance Advisor and previously he was employed by the Rehab Group as an instructor in Rehabilitative Training for people with mental health difficulties.

Declan has a BA in Psychoanalytic Studies and an MA in Psychotherapy. He completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Disability Needs Assessment) at Trinity College in 2008 and the Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing (BPS) in 2010. In 2017, Declan completed a PhD in the School of Education exploring if reasonable accommodations provided to 3rd level students with disabilities succeed in removing barriers and impact on the student experience.

Declan recently produced a Guide for Students with Disabilities on Placement as part of an overall strategy within the Disability Service to support students with disabilities on their journey into professional courses, through placement, and on to employment.
