Biography:Niall joined the Disability Service in June 2016. Since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist from Trinity College Dublin, Niall has worked in physical disability (Assistive Technology and Specialised Seating) and most recently in Mental Health (Vocational Rehabilitation), which is his practice area of interest. As an Occupational Therapist within the Disability Service, Niall works with students with mental health and/or physical/sensory difficulties in Trinity College Dublin and the associated Marino Institute of Education (MIE). Niall works with students in both one-to-one and group based sessions, providing student centred, occupation focused assessment and intervention to help them manage their student role.
Niall has completed IPS (Individualised Placement Support) employment training, is a calibrated AMPS (Assessment of Motor and Process Skills) assessor, and is also a certified WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) facilitator with the Copeland Centre for Wellness and Recovery. Niall is a member of the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland (AOTI) and is currently working as part of an AOTI policy group developing LGBT Inclusive Practice Guidelines for Occupational Therapists.
