As an employer, there are many advantages to be gained from ensuring your company is open and accessible to graduates with disabilities. By ensuring accessibility you can attract the best in your field, regardless of disability, specific learning difficulty or medical condition.
There are currently over 1,000 students studying in TCD who are registered with the Disability Service and this represents a significant pool of potential employees.

Get AHEAD: Explains the term ‘reasonable accommodations’ and gives workplace examples of accommodations.

Disability Awareness Support Scheme: This Fás scheme ensures that managers and other employees maximize their working relationships with colleagues with disabilities.
Kanchi: The Kanchi Network is a business membership network committed to creating inclusive business. Through the Kanchi Network you can benefit from knowledge, tools, consulting and training.

Funding and Support

Fás Reasonable Accommodation Fund: This fund is for companies with disabled employees who are seeking to provide additional supports to assist them with their work or make the workplace more accessible.

The GetAhead website covers the Employment Equality Acts 1998 and 2004 and the Equal Status Acts 2000 to 2004 succinctly.

Organisations working with graduates with disabilities

Get AHEAD is a forum for Graduates with Disabilities. It also provides an extensive centralised directory of valuable information covering a wide range of topics including legal entitlements, inclusive employment and training.
Willing Able Mentoring works in partnership with public and private sector employers to secure paid internships for graduates with disabilities.
Employability: offers a free job matching and employment placement service that matches your specific recruitment needs to graduates with disabilities, and supports both employer and employee through the transition process.
