Congratulations to Kiera Malone
Congratulations to our student Kiera Malone who won a prize for her research. Kiera presented a research poster on her D.Dent.Ch. research at the IAOS (Irish Association of Oral Surgeons) inaugural scientific meeting 2016, held on Saturday the 19th November 2016 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dublin. The prize won by Kiera was the David Ryan Poster Prize. The title of Kiera's poster was "An investigation of Staphylococcus aureau oro-nasal carries among dental staff."
Previously Kiera Malone won a prize for her presentation at the annual British Association of Oral Surgeons (BAOS) conference in Edinburgh held 28th-30th Sep 16. Kiera’s research investigated carriage of the Staphylococcus aureus bacterium in dental staff, which was carried out as part of her D.Ch.Dent degree. The title of her presentation was “An investigation of Staphylococcus aureus oro-nasal carriers among dental staff” and was co-authored by Peter Kinnevey, Leo Stassen & David Coleman.
