Congratulations to Catherine Waldron

Congratulations to our colleague Catherine Waldron who has been awarded a HRB Cochrane Fellowship. The fellowship will allow her to research a systematic review on the topic of "Oral hygiene programmes for people with intellectual disabilities”. Cochrane Reviews are systematic reviews of primary research in human health care and health policy and are internationally recognised as the highest standard in evidence-based health care. Cochrane Systematic Reviews are published online, in full text, in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews in the Cochrane Library – www.cochranelibrary.com.

The award will assist Catherine to attend Cochrane training courses and to attend meetings to disseminate the findings. This award is a first for the Dental School & DDUH. Ms Waldron was supported by a team of researchers in the School and TCD, including Prof June Nunn, Prof Catherine Comiskey, Dr Caoimhin MacGiolla Phadraig, Dr Erica Donnelly-Swift and Prof Mike Clarke. The Librarians in the DDUH, Isabel Fleischmann and Caroline Meehan also played an important role in completing the Scoping Review which helped to determine the title of the Cochrane Review.
