International workshop on smart inks for the pharmaceutical packaging industry

24 June 2016

The prestigious event will take place in the Italian Ambassador's residence in Ireland.

Palladio Group, a leading company operating since 70 years in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry made in Italy, supports a prestigious international workshop about “PhutureMed – Smart inks for smart pharma” which will take place on Thursday the 23rd of June at Lucan House, the Italian Ambassador's residence in Ireland.

One of the main issues of the event is “smart inks” which can make packaging communicate with smart devices (smartphones and tablets) thanks to their special properties.

“The workshop’s main object is to give participants the possibility of exploiting the opportunities offered in this field by nanotechnology” explains Mr. Gabriele Iannizzotto, Corporate Marketing & Innovation Manager at Palladio Ireland. “We will not only illustrate the role of smart inks in the pharmaceutical industry, but we will also demonstrate their importance for improving healthcare services, patient’s compliance with treatment and the wellbeing of people who need care and therapy”.

“PhutureMed™ project has been conceived with the purpose of creating innovative packaging solutions for the medicine of future” says Mr. Mauro Marchi, CEO at Palladio Group. “It’s an intelligent packaging system created for supporting patients to comply with their medication regime”.

For all these reasons Palladio Group has succeeded in promoting the event at an international level in collaboration with eminent partners such as the Italian Embassy in Ireland, the Italian Institute of Technology, the Trinity College Dublin, Antares Vision, E Ink and the research institutes NEST - National Enterprise for nanoScience and nanoTechnology and CRANN - Centre for Research on Adaptive Nanostructures and Nano devices (Trinity College Dublin).

Palladio Group, born in 1946 in Vicenza (north eastern Italy) as a typography, is at present a multinational society whose headquarter is located in Dueville (VI). The company has more than 500 employees and 5 branches (3 in Italy and 2 abroad) and a new one is under construction in Russia. Palladio Group is a leading company in the Italian secondary packaging market and a service provider society in the healthcare and cosmetic fields.
