Using Stanislavski's System

This four day course will introduce participants to Stanislavski’s System which is at the core of almost all actor training throughout the world.Specifically it will look at four areas of his system the actor’s work on his/her body, on character, on the text and on being on stage. A range of selected contemporary and classical monologues and scenes are used to give actors a practical experience of the system.
Actors will learn the principles of Naivety,Concentration, Relaxation, Sense Memory and Communion, the Method of Physical Actions, Actions, Beats, Uniting and Objectives. The workshop will end with a presentation of the work. This course is ideal for participants who want to challenge themselves in all aspects of their stage craft and learn, through active analysis, about “The Father of Actor Training” in the Western world.

Applicants must complete a detailed questionnaire on the application form, giving information about his or her experience of acting or performing including a 200 word personal statement. Applications are not required to attend for audition.
