Project Name: ADDPRIV (Automatic Data relevancy Discrimination for a PRIVacy-sensitive video surveillance).
This project is funded through the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme.

Duration: 36 months

Value: Approximately €4 million

Project Website: www.addpriv.eu

This project aims to develop surveillance technology which will ensure the public’s security, while respecting their right to privacy. The technology will be capable of distinguishing between relevant and non-relevant video footage, from the point of view of security. This will allow a reduction in the amount of video footage retained, as the footage not relevant for security purposes will be deleted. The technology thereby improves video-surveillance’s observation of the public’s right to privacy.

The project is being undertaken by a consortium which comprises members from academia and enterprises around Europe. The consortium members are:

Anova IT Consulting (Project leader) (Spain)
Kingston University (United Kingdom)
Politechnika Gdanska (Poland)
Lancaster University (United Kingdom)
Avanzit Tecnologia (Spain)
Hewlett Packard Italiana (Italy)
SEA Aeroporti di Milano (Italy)
Renfe Operadora (Spain)
Trinity College Dublin (Ireland)
